From the Principal's Office

We would like to extend a warm welcome to our new families and welcome back all of our returning families. We hope you had a wonderful summer and that you are ready for another great school year.

All students will attend school Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 2:20pm. Once again, there will be more time in teachers' schedules on Tuesdays after dismissal time to engage parents in the education process.

We will continue to implement the common core curriculum and are committed to do all we can to help students improve learning and make gains. Grades K-5 will continue with the Go Math program. Kindergarten- Grade 2 will continue with the literacy program, Reading Street and Grades 3-5 will continue with Ready Gen.

Let's work together to help our children grow academically, socially and emotionally. We will support your needs and in turn, we ask that you remain involved in all aspects of your child's education. One of our goals is vocabulary development. You should be constantly talking to your children and engaging them in conversation. Ask what they are thinking;ask what they did in school. Check their homework daily. Have them read at home and go to the Public Library with them if you can.

Keep the lines of communication with school open at all times. Please check your child's backpack daily so you can keep up to speed about your child's class and about all P.S. 20 meetings, events, and workshops.

We look forward to seeing and meeting each and every one of you in the near future and look forward to another spectacular school year.

Educationally yours, Ms. Munoz and Ms. Steenwerth
